Assuming that at this stage the process for installation and configuration of the UXI Agent is completed and the agent has been started on the device, if you have not please follow the steps here to install the agent.

The agent will appear on UXI dashboard and begin reporting test results in 5 to 10 minutes.

When the agent is running, you will see a happy face icon in the notification tray.

The agent runs in the background, so it does not need to be up on the screen. For troubleshooting purposes, open the UXI agent app and some helpful information to troubleshoot the agent is shown.

The troubleshooting information on the app is useful to let you know the following:

  • Display how long it has been since the agent last reported test results to the UXI dashboard.

  • Verify the device is connected to Wi-Fi.

  • Check whether the device has a cellular connection (optional - if this is red it is not an issue)

  • Verify the device has connectivity to our dashboard. If this option is red, you will need to examine the network the device is connected is able to reach the required URLs.

  • Verify the required permissions are enabled.

The agent uses the following permissions (This is from the Android UI device perspective)

  • Verify you are using the latest agent version.

Ensure Location is Enabled on All Devices

Many of the wireless properties the agent collects require the device location to be on for android to provide that information. For every device, please ensure Location is ON under Settings -> Location. This is in addition to the location permission shown above.

Additional Troubleshooting

If you need help, you can reach out to support using the chat box in the dashboard. Please provide the dashboard name, description of the issue and any relevant information such as Model, OS version, and the information displayed on the UXI agent screen.

You can find the model, OS, build number by going to Settings -> System -> About Phone and looking for Model and Hardware, Android Version and Build Number.
