Administrators have the option to configure predefined tests. Predefined tests provide User Experience Insight (Cape, UXI) users with connectivity information about specific websites and applications, allowing for more analytics of end-user experience. UXI sensors perform continuous rounds of testing to check for connectivity, performance quality, and for any issues and their causes. 

Some of these tests simply use the Custom Test Template with predefined configurations. These predefined configurations allow UXI to optimize the tests for certain websites and applications.

Pre-defined and custom test templates have optional frequency and rate limit settings so administrators have the ability to control the frequency of tests to avoid impacts on applications. More information on frequency and rate limit settings can be found here.

Dropbox Test: The Dropbox test uses the Webserver Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.dropbox.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping. 

UXI sensors perform throughput tests by periodically uploading and downloading a sample file, sized 1 MB or 5 MB, at a configurable frequency (between every 10 minutes and every 12 hours). At the selected frequency, throughput with www.dropbox.com is measured once. The dashboard provides reports on the throughput of the file transfers and notifies of any transfer failure.

Netflix (Fast.com) Test: The Netflix (Fast.com) test performs a Throughput Test by loading www.fast.com. The frequency of this test can be set between 30 minutes and 12 hours. At the selected frequency, sensors measure the loading speed.

Caution: The bandwidth requirement of this test is equivalent to performing periodic speed tests on actual clients, such as laptops or mobile phones. It is possible to cause data usage overages, depending on your data usage allowances. For networks with limited Internet uplink bandwidth, a speed test can consume nearly all of the bandwidth for the duration of the test, causing other clients in the network to experience poor Internet performance.

YouTube Test: The YouTube test uses the Webserver Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.youtube.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

The YouTube test finds a video stream and downloads the video, whereby connectivity metrics like time and throughput are captured and reported by the dashboard.

Skype for Business/Microsoft Teams Test: These two tests uses the VoIP Test Template, predefined to calculate the MOS score (between 1 and 5) for connectivity to 13.107.8.2 on Port 443.

BlueJeans Test: The BlueJeans test uses the VoIP Test Template, predefined to calculate the MOS score (between 1 and 5) for connectivity to bjn.vc on Port 5061.

Slack Test: The Slack test uses the Webserver Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.slack.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

UXI sensors measure the timing of API queries to Slack's public Web API.

The Real Time Messaging API can also be configured for measuring latency of message transmissions on existing connections. This provides a more realistic measure of the user experience with the Slack service. Click here for details on setting up the API Token required for RTM API testing.

Asana Test: The Asana test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.asana.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Box Test: The Box test uses the Webserver Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.box.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Docusign Test: The Docusign test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.docusign.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Facebook Test: The Facebook test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.facebook.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Google Test: The Google test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.google.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Google Drive Test: The Google Drive test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.drive.google.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Google Docs Test: The Google Docs test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.docs.google.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Google Mail Test: The Google Mail test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.gmail.com using Port 800, Port 443, and Ping.

Github Test: The Github test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.github.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Hootsuite Test: The Hootsuite test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.hootsuite.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Hubspot Test: The Hubspot test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.hubspot.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Jenkins Test: The Jenkins test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.jenkins.io using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Jira Test: The Jira test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.jira.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

LinkedIn Test: The LinkedIn test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.linkedin.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Okta Test: The Okta test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.okta.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Salesforce Test: The Salesforce test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.salesforce.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Zendesk Test: The Zendesk test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.zendesk.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Zenefits Test: The Zenefits test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.zenefits.com using Port 80, Port 443, and Ping.

Adobe Creative Cloud: The Adobe Creative Cloud test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to creative.adobe.com using Port 80 and Port 443.

Microsoft Online Test: The Microsoft Online test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to login.microsoftonline.com using Port 80 and Port 443.

Gusto Test: The Gusto test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.gusto.com using Port 80 and Port 443.

Hipchat Test: The Hipchat test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.hipchat.com using Port 80 and Port 443.

Intercom Test: The Intercom test uses the Generic Test Template, predefined to evaluate connectivity to www.intercom.com using Port 80 and Port 443.
