The UXI sensors and agents initiate all communication with the UXI cloud and only do so periodically during their test cycle. The UXI dashboard determines whether a sensor (or agent) is online by whether the sensor has reported measurements in the last 90 minutes. If a sensor is unplugged from its power source and if the sensor is not cellular capable or does not have coverage or is otherwise unable to communicate with our UXI cloud, after 90 minutes the sensor will appear “offline” and represented in grey in the dashboard. You can apply a filter in the dashboard to identify which sensors are assigned to groups and are currently offline.
The Offline Sensors Report helps identify sensors and agents that are assigned to groups and offline or have a power outage during the reporting period. You can run the report on-demand or set up a schedule and have it emailed to you automatically. In addition, there is also an API you can use to pull the sensor status and see what issues are ongoing and whether the sensor is online and testing or offline. Both capabilities can be used to help you better identify offline sensors so you can take proactive action to bring them online.
Notice: The offline data only goes back as far as February 3rd 2026. Any sensor that has been offline since before February 3rd 2026 will have a timestamp that shows that is when it was last online, even though it has been offline for longer. Make sure you set the date for your reports to start from February 4th 2026 onward.
Note: The offline report will include sensors even if they are muted.
Offline Sensors Report Configuration
You can find the offline sensor report under Settings -> Reports
The On-Demand and Scheduled Offline Sensor reports have similar settings:
Name – Give the report a unique name.
Description – Provide a description of the report (optional).
Data Source – Select the groups you want to include in the report.
Data Source Type – Select whether to include All or only Agents or only Sensors in the report.
Format (Select CSV or both)
CSV – this creates a CSV file that lists every sensor or agent within the groups selected that has been offline or had a power outage during the reporting period.
PDF – This option provides a group level summary but does not list each sensor
The On-Demand Report has an additional option:
Date Range – Enter the date you want to examine in the report.
Make sure to include today's date if you want to know what sensors are offline at the time the report is generated.
The Scheduled Report has some additional options:
Schedule
Frequency – Daily, Weekly or Monthly
Time zone – Specify the time zone you are in
Time – Time to run the report
Condition
Always – Always send the report regardless of whether there is information in the report. With this option the report may be blank if no sensors went offline during the reporting period.
If sensors went offline during the reporting period – Send the report if it contains sensors that went offline or had a power outage during the reporting period.
If sensors are offline at the time of generation – The report will contain both sensors offline or had a power outage during the reporting period and sensors currently offline when the report was generated.
Offline Sensors Report Output
The offline sensor report CSV contains all sensors or agents that are offline or have a power outage during the reporting period.
Sensor Name - Sensor Name set in the dashboard.
Sensor Serial – Serial Number of the Sensor
Sensor Type - “hardware” or “agent”
Sensor Ethernet MAC address – Physical Ethernet MAC address of the sensor
Sensor Wi-Fi MAC address - Physical Wi-Fi MAC address of the sensor
Group Name – The lowest group the sensor is assigned to in the hierarchy
Parent Group Name – The group above the lowest group the sensor is assigned to in the hierarchy.
Group Full Path – The full hierarchy path of the sensor.
Offline Occurrences - A count of how many times the sensor went offline or had a power outage during the reporting period.
Offline Duration – The total time for how long the sensor was offline or had a power outage during the reporting period.
Last Offline Timestamp (UTC) - the last timestamp the sensor was considered offline
Online Since Timestamp (UTC) - How long the sensor has been online since it was last offline.
Use this column to filter for sensors that are still offline. This column will be empty if the sensor is still offline.
Notes – Customers often use the sensor notes for a detailed description of where the sensors are or for asset management purposes.
Latitude - Last reported value.
Longitude - Last reported value.
Last Offline Reason - Either Power Outage or Unknown
The offline sensor report PDF is optional and contains a group-based summary of sensors agents that are offline or have a power outage during the reporting period, a visual representation of the offline time density and the top 5 sensors or agents by offline occurrences and duration.
