Time Range Selection

When browsing a sensor status page or a service status page, the time range of data is displayed in the top right corner.

To select a different time range, you can use quick select options on the left; you only need to click to update the test result and issue charts. You can also enter a specific time and click apply to view only results within a given period. Once the charts update, you can click and drag on the charts to zoom in. You can also select a previously viewed time.

Test Result Charts

The test result measurement charts summarize the data into time buckets depending on your selected time range. If the measurement is a numerical value, the average value within the time bucket is displayed. If the measurement is a string, the most common value within the time bucket is displayed. When you zoom out to 30 days, the time bucket is as large as 4 hours, and when you zoom in, the lowest time bucket is 1 minute.

For example, in the following image, you can see when you hover over a chart the time bucket displayed is 19:00-19:30. The measurements displayed on the right are either the average within that bucket for numerical values or the most common in the case of strings.

Consecutive time buckets only have connecting lines if data exists in adjacent time buckets. Conversely, gaps in the charts are expected if measurements do not exist in adjacent time buckets. If you would like more information on how the sensor runs tests and how to understand the issues detected by the sensor, you can see the sensor test cycle or the troubleshooting guide.
